Here at the Porto Vista our guestrooms are framed by San Diego’s beautiful weather and scenery through our exterior corridors. What once was deemed as a flaw to some is now actually a beneficial factor for guest’s during these precedent times.

COVID-19 has drastically changed the way of life and the precautionary efforts to avoid this virus is at an all-time high. There are a few ways the virus can be contracted and aerosol transmission is when:

 an infected person expels microscopic infectious particles so tiny that they linger in the air and spread from person to person in air currents. Since they are much smaller than droplets, aerosols can travel greater distances and get deep into the lungs of someone who inhales them.

This occurs especially in closed indoor settings such as your big brand hotels. Air conditioning is a potential route of transmission by sucking in virus particles breathed out by an infected person and then blowing those infectious particles back out in the same room or even another room several floors away.

With our outdoor corridors and individual ac units for each room, the chances of aerosol transmission drops significantly compared to other closed in hotel buildings. As a family owned hotel, we strive to keep our staff and guests safe by staying up to date on all sanitizing protocols for a fun and clean environment.
